Symbio Completes Authorization Process to Become Car Connectivity Consortium Digital Key Authorized Test Laboratory

Symbio is now one of the carefully selected and authorized test laboratories to conduct CCC Digital Key Certification for Vehicles and End-User Devices.

The Car Connectivity Consortium(CCC) unites automotive and consumer technology industries, allowing them to future-proof vehicle access using smart devices. At the beginning of 2024, Symbio successfully completed the authorization process and requirements to become a CCC Authorized Test Laboratory for Digital Key Applet Functional Compliance, as well as End-to-End Interoperability for Vehicles and End-User Devices. The testing scope applies for all active CCC Digital Key™ Certification Releases.

Symbio is now one of the carefully selected and authorized test laboratories to conduct CCC Digital Key Certification for Vehicles and End-User Devices.

Symbio has a strong background in the automotive industry which enabled a natural continuation to broaden our service offering to Digital Key Certifications.

As part of the authorization process, which started in August 2023, Symbio participated in the CCC Digital Key Plugfest event in Palo Alto, California, US. CCC Plugfest events gather car manufacturers and end-user device manufacturers to test their CCC Digital Key implementations.

“The event was extremely interesting and instructive, and it also offered a great opportunity to get to know the other ecosystem members of the Car Connectivity Consortium,”

says Jari Peltonen, Symbio’s Digital Key Lab Manager, who was presenting Symbio at the event.

The Car Connectivity Consortium consists of more than 200 member companies including vehicle and phone manufacturers, silicon vendors and many more. The use of digital keys is currently being widely adopted in the market. Symbio is happy to be part of the development, providing CCC Digital Key Authorized Certification Laboratory service to ecosystem members.
