The Professional Edition provides all the class management features like class creation, icon editors, user customization of class and method templates.

LabVIEW Class Architectures

The tool features works on three different architectures - all based on the native LabVIEW 8.2 class concept.

• LabVIEW Native Class - a standard built-in LabVIEW class created from a class template.
• Symbio GOOP 3 – by-reference architecture based on un-initialized shift registers and LabVIEW classes. Easy to debug, based on GOOP2 object kernel and thereby proven by use over a long time.
• OpenG Class Template – by-reference architecture, built on LabVIEW classes, BSD licensed open source and based on LabVIEW queues. Currently in beta state.
• Plug-in based support for class architectures makes the tool open for additional class architectures.

Class Maintenance - Update Class Template Version

All classes are created from versioned class templates. Symbio maintains the class templates and the Update Class Template feature allows existing classes to be automatically upgraded to the latest class template version. This feature ensures created classes will run on future LabVIEW versions.

Icon Editors

• Automates icon creation and maintenance.
• Works for classes and standard VIs.
• The Class Icon Editor is automatically invoked whenever a class is created or renamed – during class creation, class rename, clone class.
• The VI Icon Editor is used after cloning or renaming VIs of the class or standard VIs to quickly update the icon.

• Upgrade your existing GOOP application to GOOP 3  

Mass upgrade utility for GOOP 1 and GOOP 2 applications – automates most of the job of upgrading your application from GOOP 1 or GOOP 2 to GOOP 3. Some manual effort is still needed though.
