Symbio to Speak at GENIVI Members Meeting in Dearborn, MI, USA
DATE: October 18-21, 2010
Symbio will be speaking at the upcoming GENIVI Members Meeting, to be held in Dearborn Michigan.
OpenGL ES 2.0: 3D Graphics and In-Vehicle Infotainment
The automotive industry is a hotbed of activity as in-vehicle infotainment systems become a key competitive differentiator. Automotive head units and infotainment systems are moving towards open development through platforms like Genivi which provide a common software architecture for automotive cluster and applications. As automotive UIs use the same technology as mobile device UIs --including the usage of realistic graphics effects and transitions -- this presents an opportunity for expanded use of OpenGL ES 2.0. The Genivi Graphics framework and requirements for OpenGL ES 2.0 are to provide unified APIs on automotive graphics services. This session will review the state of the automotive industry as it relates to 3D graphics and IVI and presents a compelling case study on how an independent SW development house / product engineering house is combining its Khronos and Genivi experience.
- Tools to verify graphics performance expectations
- Tools to enable graphics content and usage in automotive platforms
Attendees will also see a demo(s) - an advanced Automotive Metering system based on OpenGL ES 2.0
