Empower People

At Symbio, one of our core values is to empower people – we care about our people, and we want them to achieve their dreams.

Symbio has established partnerships with leading universities and institutions in China, providing training courses and internships for top-tier students at Harbin Institute of Technology, Sichuan University and Beijing Jiao Tong University. The training courses and internships complement the university curricula with practical, hands-on experience. Additionally, Symbio offers internal training courses for our professionals and experts, pushing them to become tomorrow’s leaders. We encourage employee development, and work satisfaction is measured regularly. In Finland, Symbio also strives to follow every article of the SA8000 standard (www.sa-intl.org).

Not only do we seek to empower our employees, but we also wish to empower those who are less fortunate, so they can achieve their own aspirations.

Symbio has partnered with Qifang, the first Chinese online student loan company. The two companies created a person-to-person web service for individual Chinese students and institutions to find funding, manage loan and grant transactions, establish relationships with funding sources and share in a community of borrowers, lenders and donors. From designing the product construct and strategy, to developing the site, testing it and providing ongoing maintenance support, Symbio leveraged the latest web and community technologies to provide a solution to Qifang that connects and assists everyone involved in education finance. On December 5, 2008, Qifang was named World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer of 2009.

Symbio has also partnered with Compassion for Migrant Children (CMC), a Beijing-based non-profit organization that seeks to create a future and hope for all migrant children through the use of social and educational programs. Symbio participated in CMC's Life Vocational Program, in which our employees volunteer and utilize the skills they already possess into tangible benefits for the children. Our employees teach after-school vocational training, English language and computer classes. The skill sets gained from these classes will help the children move up the economic ladder, and hopefully transition easier from their status as migrants to stable members of a local community.

In the United States, Symbio has also partnered with the Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) to provide relief and help benefit Silicon Valley’s low-income families. Our employees participate in activities, such as annual book drives, to help support the children and Asian American immigrants in need.

Globally, we are also actively involved in the communities by supporting various sports and associations, as well as a number of locally-based youth organizations.
